Fayette County Courthouse
The courthouse was built in 1891, and was designed by
famed architect J. Reilly Gordon for a cost of $87,356.10-renovated in 2004.
Fayette County Jail
This 1883 structure served Fayette County as the County Jail for over 100
years. This building is now
home to the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce.

Fayette Heritage Museum Library & Archives
Exhibits, genealogy, microfilm, data back to early

Hermes Drug Store
Built in 1856, it is the oldest drugstore still in
operation in Texas. Located on the square. 979-968-5835
Historic Oak Tree
Muster Oak on NE corner of the square. It was from this spot that
Captain Dawson in 1842 gathered a group of 53 courageous men to aid in the
Texas-Mexican Revolution.
Monument Hill & Kreische Brewery State
Site
Resting place of men who drew the "Black Beans of Death"
