Less than five years ago plans were unveiled for a new hospital to serve Fayette and Lee Counties. Today, highly trained physicians and staff are providing “Compassionate Care for Life,” at St. Mark’s Medical Center; utilizing world-class technology in a state-of-the-art community hospital, which is rapidly growing into the cornerstone of a multifaceted health care complex.

St. Mark’s Medical Center is located on a 73-acre site on the northeastern outskirts built with 6.2 million of funds pledged by members of the community, local businesses and organizations and bonds underwritten by HUD because of the community’s commitment to a new hospital. In July 2005, the old local hospital closed its doors and the new 100, 000 square feet facility admitted it first patient.
